SPORTS GROUND LIGHTS SOLUTIONS AND PRODUCTS
Whether they
are soccer fields with more than 100,000 spectators or local sports clubs with
a capacity of just 100 spectators, it makes no difference. In order to receive
high-quality lighting, special precautions are needed, which will benefit both
the players on the field and the view from the stands. Efficient lighting
systems for small and large sports facilities, as well as a better view also
help to save on operating costs, drastically reducing routine maintenance
costs.
How to illuminate a sports facility: the equipment
All
equipment must clearly be up to standard.
As for the
electrical panels, these must obligatorily include some information such as the
name and brand of the manufacturer, the type, the current and the nominal
voltage, the nature of the current and the frequency and the degree of protection.
Regarding this last parameter, the containers where the electrical panels are
to be stored must have an IP54 degree of protection.
The
lamp-holder towers which have the task of illuminating the football field, can
have different dimensions ranging from 16 meters to 30 meters and can have a
truncated cone shape. Every single tower must have a so-called 'cabinet' with
the power supply and protection equipment equipped with material that is
resistant to both shock and electrical stress.
The rules on lighting football fields
When a
competition is held with artificial light, the degree of illumination must be
distributed evenly on the playing field and with the right intensity.
These are the
regulations issued by CONI:
·
For
stadiums intended for non-competitive activities 75 lux; unit. 0.5;
·
For
stadiums destined to competitive activities at the local level 200 lux; unit.
0.7;
·
For
stadiums intended for competitive activities at the national or international level
500 lux; unit. 0.7.
Even the referee or in any case the sports judge has the obligation to suspend or not
start the game if the intensity of the lighting is insufficient. Just as the
visiting team can request the reading of the light intensity on the football
field and appeal if the latter is scarce.
The
horizontal and vertical lighting on the football fields is very important, in
fact, it must allow the public to distinguish the players and the latter must
receive the right intensity of light in all directions of the field to be able
to follow the trajectory of the ball well. The directionality of the LED
lights must be measured at 1.5 meters from the playing field.
The ideal
lamps for a soccer field are LONG RANGE LIGHTS. Whether it's 5, 7 or 11 players
makes no difference. LEDs have a longer life, are more sustainable and offer a
clear, uniform and pleasant view.
